Allan Pineda, MD

Internist

Dr. Allan Pineda is an Internist at Massachusetts General Hospital where he started his internship and residency in 1983. He then completed a year of training in infectious diseases in 1986. Dr. Pineda has been a primary care physician on staff at Mass General since 1987. His interests lie in all aspects of primary care and he provides care to a wide age range of patients in his practice- currently as young as 18 and as old as 95.

Education

Dr. Pineda completed his undergraduate training at the University of Southern California, followed by medical school at the University of California, San Francisco. He then travelled cross country to Boston to begin his internship.

A Global Focus

Dr. Pineda is bilingual as his family is originally from Honduras where extended family continues to reside. His current practice at Mass General continues to include a very large group of international patients who reside in various parts of Latin America.

Outside the Office

Dr. Pineda was born in Los Angeles but has been a resident of Massachusetts since 1983. His wife is a physician at Mass General as is his son. Dr. Pineda’s daughter is a pathology resident at Beth Israel Hospital. He and his wife now have 6 grandchildren.

Dr. Pineda was a competitive swimmer and remains very active in a regular exercise regimen. He is a fanatic of the Patriots and Bruins though in basketball his heart remains with the Los Angeles Lakers.
