Calum MacRae, MD, PhD

Cardiologist and Internist

Dr. Calum MacRae is an internist, cardiologist and geneticist whose major interest is in understanding the mechanisms of disease at the level of the individual patient.

He feels privileged to be a physician during medical science’s most dynamic period of change in a hundred years. Joining AllCare allows him to partner with his patients to offer them uniquely tailored traditional care while navigating the very latest approaches to health and wellness from genomics to digital health.

He was born on the Isle of Skye in Scotland where his father was a primary care physician and spent the first 16 years of my life on this beautiful windswept island. He attended college and medical school at the University of Edinburgh. He completed Internal Medicine and Cardiology training in London where he worked in the national center for inherited heart diseases. He then obtained a PhD in human molecular genetics in London before coming to Harvard Medical School for a postdoctoral fellowship. He met his wife in the laboratory and was persuaded to repeat his Internal Medicine residency and Cardiology fellowship at Mass General Brigham. While undertaking his cardiology fellowship at MGH, he was mentored by John Levinson and has been working with him in some capacity ever since.
